Luna Rossa
A new team to the Audi MedCup Circuit, Luna Rossa are an evolution of Patrizio Bertelli’s team which won the Louis Vuitton Cup in 2000 and were America’s Cup challengers. They sail a proven Italian built TP52, previously raced as Pisco Sour by Vasco Vascotto.
Laden with talent, the boat has been modified through the winter ready for the season and the team worked up pre season against 2008 champions Quantum Racing in Valencia, where the team retain a base in the America’s Cup port.
Brazilian dream team, round the world race winning Torben Grael and Robert Scheidt between them have nine Olympic medals between them, are the core of the afterguard along with America’s Cup winners, Matteo Plazzi (ITA) the navigator who won the 33rd America’s Cup match, and Ed Baird (USA) who won with Alinghi.
