Final day Pre-Worlds

The VII Trofeo César Manrique Puerto Calero concluded today in lanzarotean waters. The breeze started blowing late and was quite shifty, but finally the TP52’s, GP42’s and Open Club classes were able to do one race. Desafío in TP 52’, Airis in GP 42’, Pasión x Castellón in ORC 570,  Maeña 7 in Open Regatta, Horus V in Open Cruise and Sorondongo IV in Open Club where winners of Trofeo César Manrique Puerto Calero.

In the TP52’ class Desafío, helmed by Paul Cayard, was the winner after dominating from the first day. The TP52’s are getting ready for the TP52 World Championship Islas Canarias. They had an excellent test towards the main regatta of the season which will start next Monday. Desafío, which started the last day with a good advantage, came seventh, enough to defeat Platoon (Jochen Schuemann), coming second. The third place was won by Audi (Riccardo Simoneschi), after being first in the first leg just one point above Bribón (Dean Barker).

Monday the TP52 World Championship starts. It is a 6 day event, including 4 W/L days and 2 Coastal days.
