Team New Zealand launch their TP52

Never a dull moment with Emirates Team New Zealand, straight after their win of the Pacific Series, well done guys, back to business and launching their TP52. Marcelino Botin, chief designer of the team present, as of course the builder, Mick Cookson.

With the new rule on standing headroom it is interesting to see how the different teams and their designers have done the coachroof and decklayout. This one sure looks pretty efficient, the  business, well done.

At the time of launching the news was also published that Mick Cookson has to lay of his workforce because lack of work. A sharp reminder of the shape the world is in and the difficulties facing the marine industry, as indeed almost any industry. I like to offer Mick and in particular his guys the sympathy of all of us, but of course they are much more served by us making a success of the 2009 Med Cup and Worlds, to keep on promoting our sport and return as soon as possible with new orders.

Looking forward to see the boat and the team in Valencia in April. Send us some photos of her trials, please.
