Impressive Container Debut

Day 1 Cascais: first observations…

Markus Wieser helms Container to two solid 2nd places in a show of control, good crewwork and good strategic decisions.

The Container is a team packed with very experienced sailors including tactician Hamish Pepper (NZL) strategist and tactician on Artemis in 2009, and pitman Alan Smith (NZL) who has eight America’s Cup campaigns to his credit, Hartwell Jordan (USA) and Victor Marino (ESP) who sailed regularly on Bribon.

Synergy two great starts, capitalising on this in Race 1 with a comfortable win and giving it all away in Race 2 by a sloppy take down.

Quantum consistent with 2 thirds, but not sharp enough in the position game yet, could have been one up for both.

Azurra great comeback from 5th in race 1 with a 1st as result from a well spotted pressure line in the first run.

Ran shows good speed, will grow to be a force in the top.

All4One not comfortable with their boat yet and Bribon giving it away with an OCS in race 2.
